"Granville has started 23 games at hooker in the past two years and averaged 46.6 in 55 minutes a game"

which means he would have collectively scored 23 x 46.6 points = 1071.8 points in those games. But in reality he scored those points in 22 games because he got knocked out early in one match.

    1071.8 divided by 22 = 48.7.

Have I got the math's wrong?

Yes well if that's the case certainly less value, although I'm not entirely sure it's fair to discount the tries because for Jake they are kind of a base stat wouldn't you say? And I do think he will probably get the 60 min. But yeah still not sure if I want Smith/Segs or Smith/Jake

That isn't discounting the games he scored tries in mate, that was his total score over the 23 games minus the -3 game

Fuck trusting Renegades. Grab the spreadsheet that Fantasy's favourite cow put on page one and work it out from that. I rate the fact you chucked up the numbers for your argument, Granville probably won't be an option for me anyway but at least I'm looking at him now Very Happy

Am I missing anything, no one has mentioned Josh Jackson? I would have thought he is guaranteed an 80mins this year and should score well.

I just don't have the cojones to to pick someone whose game is built around tries and the attacking haul they bring..... which is why I selected Semi R in the draft game Laughing

apart from a 20 point showing in R1 last year and R4 where he started CTR and scored 30 i can't see much room for improvement mate

Renegades counting 2 years worth of 80 min scores in their opinion piece is very misleading as well.

So we know Parcell and koro are going to be sharing minutes. I assume the max number of minutes parcell will get is 40 minutes.
How many minutes do we think paul carter will get? Would he be a better cash cow then parcell?

It's looking like he won't get a start all.

I doubt Carter will even get a run, but if he did, he'd only get 20 odd minutes off the bench.. Not worth it imo..

According to my sheet (which includes finals) he scored 1036 points in 24 starts
So 1039 points in 23 starts if you discount the -3. Average of 45.2
This was in an average of 55.9 minutes (again ignoring the -3)

Not quite enough for mine to get him unless you are confident of further improvement

So I checked the spreadsheet and yeah agree I get 1039 from 23 starts for average of 45.2. I think the renegades number might not have included the finals series which Granville did comparatively poorly in, and theirs was over two years so would have included his two starts in 2014 where he scored 61 and 63 while Macca was out.

Incidentally if you include those two starts the average is 1163 divide 25 = 46.5 giving him a discount of 4 at his price. But certainly potential for more if he gets the minutes.

Football wise I think he's capable of playing 80 and wish he did, I spent a chunk of the GF screaming at Green to get him back on. I think that game made it evident he won't be an 80 minute player with the same coach though.

Nah have nothing but love for Greeny, he knows what he's doing. And I was used to having to wait for Jake to come back on having seen it all year. He could do more minutes but would lose some impact if he played 80, he was gassed in the first semi and taken off after 27 min I think having had forwards running at him the whole time and the Donkeys scored as a result IIRC

    was going to say this.

Granvilles style of play I personally don't think is attainable over 80 minutes, much better used as a 60 minute max player to keep that quick, elusive running game going

from a fantasy perspective, 80 minutes would mean more tackles though and that is hard to ignore
