    Anyway,

The quoted post above was made when it was Welshy's turn to pick in NRL FF Draft League 1.
His previous draft pick was Keary.
I don't see how anyone outside of L1 would know that. Hence, the Alt is in L1.

NRL FF Draft League 1 members suspects:

    EasyTiger - It's not me

Jstevens269 - American, doesn't fit the timezones and would post more if he wanted to post more

wolfking - Too busy for that shit

Welshy - I think I'd love a Welshy Alt - tell us what you really think Welshy Very Happy  - i.e. it's not him

Cantbeatwinners - Doesn't fit the posting times/pattern, and doesn't seem the type for such indulgences - it's not him

    That leaves a villainous 5:

Jele - Seems too much of a stand-up guy to waste his time on Alting... 10-1

Mulvy - Dolphin likes to back up arguments with facts, but then some are more like pseudo-facts with a degree of confirmation bias. It could be Mulvy, but if it is, I think it's likely a split personality and even Mulvy doesn't know he's the dolphin. 8-1

B/L - Ran the survivor hive of villainy, lies and deception. The above post appears to pay Welshy a compliment though, so seems unlikely... 6-1

sajjos - Doesn't post that much to be driven to add in an alt. But is very good at reminding people when it's their turn in draft... 4-1

robelgordo - An active poster - has he been a bit more quiet lately? Doesn't need to go with the masses and can be drawn in to a "good" POD. Keep a close eye on this one - I'd suggest not letting them near a rope, revolver, dagger, lead pipe, candlestick etc 2-1

pookus - not in the DL1 - but likes to be included in any villainy mentions... 1000-1

Jele won FF survivor last year. Behind that sweet face….

I am leaning towards Aitken over Burton now

I think Burton will lose more in attacking stats than he gains in kicking. Might still be value

Assuming Aitken gets named at edge this week, i think he'l be safe there at least until Tohu returns, and seems to have well over 40 points a week just in tackles and run metres. Doesn't need to replicate his try scoring heroics from last year in order to provide value. Just needs to match the workrate, and anything on top is a bonus

If Aitken is a sell when Tohu returns then plan would be a nice transition to Burton (who I think will still be one of the top scoring CTRs - just doesn't provide as much value for his price)

What are people thinking about Burton?
I initially had him as one of my first picked, but was very underwhelmed by his trial game.  While Barrett has said he’ll be guiding the team etc etc, he didn’t look like that’s what he was doing.  He looked to me that he played more like a centre than a halfback.

Edit: was typing this while Milchow posted. Remain interested in thoughts.

its probably worse that the Roosters claimed it 'categorically did not happen' after a 'thorough investigation', than the actual incident.

if you do a dumb shit thing just say sorry and own it. fucking hell. all the 'im a leader now' crap. spare me. people say and do dumb things. it happens. get better.

I don't mean in looks (Nicho, obviously) but in the black widow tempt you in with a this-is-the-year high scoring role and a couple of 50+ scores before being shifted anywhere and everywhere through the backline with in-game injuries and then onto the bench.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Kurt "The Redback" Mann.

I think more likely one of the backrowers-who-can-cover-centre types.

Big name centre goes down and they want strong defence in there then you've got someone like Fermor, Aitken, Bird leaving the backrow.
To be fair those three probably still score well in the centres but still less than the backrow.

Other similar ones would be centres being pushed back to the wing (2021 Cotric is a good example)
and players unexpectedly going to the bench (Kurt Mann, Proctor starting over Fermor, Tuilagi, Lawton starting over Bullemor etc)

Also if one of the starting Melbourne wingers goes down then Meaney comes in bringing an end to his 50+ average off the bench.

    Good morning.

Jake Clifford. At 6, next to Clune. I didn't watch the trail, unsure of the minutes split, but Clune kicked a total of two times for 21 metres (unsure of mins), Clifford played 60 mins and kicked 329 metres. We all know he's got a cannon for a boot. This gives him a base. He is the goalkicker. Is Clifford leading the team? Is Clifford Pearce 2.0?

Food for thought. I currently have him in my team over Burton. Am I missing something?

Rumour is that Milf ends up at 6 for Knights. Averaged 320 km last year.

I mean, Mann is totally a backrower (or lock) who can cover centre or wing.

He is a reasonable chance of averaging higher than Burton, for sure. There is obviously a fair bit of hype around Burton, due to scoring a fair few tries for the best team in the comp last year, but they are now both just halves playing for (likely) poor sides.

Difference is you can pick Burton at centre, I guess.

Ok, so now Covid is over we just have to work out who might be drafted for the Ukrainian International Brigades. Where are Momirovski's people from?

Related note, Knights rumoured to be getting Milford soon

Whether that is to play first grade, or as a backup is unknown, but may be a consideration.

Was tempted by Clifford at the start and was hopeful he’d get Luke Walsh amount of KM but he and Clune aren’t the Knights answers, they’ll change up the halves

In 12 games for the Knights last year, Clifford averaged 48.333. 7 of those games he was with Pearce, 3 with Crossland, 1 with Watto and 1 with Mann (interesting though he averaged 51.3 with Pearce). Priced at 42, I'm definitely seeing the appeal, even with the km nerf

Nah, he's an ok player and decent RL prospect. Badly served playing as a young half for a shit Cowboys team, partnered with a variety of misfits that had no idea what they were doing. Although putting it like that not sure the situation improves at the Knights.

All valid points fellas, thanks a lot. Wish I could be bothered to watch the Storm trial to see if he was more involved ect.

For what it's worth, I am a lot lower on Burton this year than most here.
